Haney to Harrison Relay

Have put out the word asking if anyone wanted to run the H2H race with me this fall. 100K relay race. Should be an interesting race again.

My running has improved quite a bit. My knee is almost 100% and my speed and pace is increasing. Have to work on my ups but the downs are much more stable. Finally back.

Website

Have published a new website for running clinics. Address is www.runone.weebly.com. I have four clinics posted and am working on getting some weight training schedules up for viewing as well.

My running has taken a turn for the better. Out on Sunday morning for an 11k run. My knee is much better and does not ache like it has. Pace was faster than I have run in over six months. Could have kept my pace for whole distance but a few were getting quite hot. Took turns running at the back to help Emma out. 1/2 Marathon, here we come.

Website

Have published my website. Pretty basic for now and will add to it as we go.
www.runone.weebly.com. Check it out.

Hello again

Been a while since my last post.
Have obtained the rights to runone.ca and have begun building my website. First job is to post run clinic details. Next will be to offer these clinics. Should launch Mid Summer.
Having fun doing this so far.
Have been injured since February with a knee issue. My right medial collateral ligament is either stressed or slightly torn. Really affects me when I am using the wrong shoes or running down hills. Rest works well. Ice and runners candy helps too.
Summer is here and am going to try to train for a half marathon for the late fall early winter. Will keep updating as we go through the process.

I'm Back

Has been a couple months since my last posting.
The 25th Vancouver Sun Run is now complete and I finished without pain or stopping. My sciatic pain has subsided to where I only have minimal pain one or two days per week. My running has improved and am sleeping through most nights.
I have accepted the opportunity to become a high school basketball official. I have done a 4 hour seminar already and am looking forward to the training sessions this coming fall season. I used to ref back in the early 80's and remember enjoying being on the court during the games.
Weather has been outstanding the past week and the next week is also 100% sunshine in the forcast. A good mix for outdoor sports.
Going to sign up for only two of the Five Peaks races this year. Will do Burnaby Mountain and Buntzen Lake.

A Dry February

Our weather has been good for running. Hardly any rain and only a few light flurrys of snow. Still cool at 3-7 degrees lately but nice to run in. I have been having some recurring sciatic pain in my right hip and leg. It has sidelined me a couple of days. Not enough to miss work but enough to stop me from running. Yesterday and Thursday were not good days. Today is better. Went for a run this morning and I am keeping to the walk run program of the Sun Run. It was all I could handle today. Could feel my body lose the ability to transfer oxygen to my system. I would become tingly and have to walk.
This rehabilitation is getting me down a bit. I have to be a little more patient with my progess. I guess I was hurt more than I thought I was. (or want to beleive)
I will attend the Centennial Communtiy Centre clinic tomorrow morning and then on Tuesday evening I will also attend the Queens Park clinic with Chris. The following Sunday I will attend the Port Moody clinc with Jana. Progression is happening.
